Velveteen Dream Appears To Be Teasing A Comeback
James Rogers
Plenty of WWE Superstars have shown promise in the past only for their personal lives to lead them away from the business. However, the potential Velveteen Dream showed was on a different level than most. It seemed like it was only a matter of time until Dream was called up to the main roster and winning major titles, even daring to spray "Call me up, Vince" on his tights at an NXT TakeOver one time. However, accusations made against the former Superstar resulted in his WWE career stuttering and eventually coming to an end.
Velveteen Dream Teases A Return
It has been two and a half years since Dream wrestled his last match in WWE, and you need to go back even longer than that to find the initial allegations made against him on his timeline. Not wrestling anywhere else since, despite nothing coming of those initial accusations, a lack of activity suggests not many, if any, promotions are interested in working with Dream who now goes by his real name, Patrick Clark.

However, out of nowhere, Clark appears to be teasing a comeback. Dream posted a photo of himself dropping an elbow during his time in NXT, along with some other photos comparing him to legendary wrestlers, also adding it to his Instagram story. It's the short clip after that which has got fans talking, though. Clark claims something is "coming soon" from him, hence the belief from some fans that he might well still have some matches left in him after all.
The End Of Clark's WWE Career
Clark's WWE run came to an end despite an internal investigation into the allegations made against him coming up empty. Clark was accused of exchanging inappropriate messages with underage fans, something he categorically denied. WWE tried to restart his NXT career again after that, but the damage was done and combined with injuries and a car accident that came after, he was eventually released. It felt inevitable whether you think it was fair or not.
Clark has sporadically made headlines since even though he hasn't wrestled a single match. The former North American Champion was arrested twice in the space of six days, and he also clashed with EC3 on social media when his fellow NXT alumnus claimed Clark had recorded people at a party he threw at his house while they were in the bathroom. Clark denied the accusations, counter-accusing EC3 of using cocaine.
