Joey Sasso and Kariselle Snow left Perfect Match season 1 with plans to tie the knot. Joey is now talking about what went wrong for the former couple.

Joey Sasso and Kariselle Snow were runners-up on Perfect Match season 1, but now Joey is finally opening up about the former engaged couple's bombshell split. Joey and Kariselle joined cast members from other Netflix shows when they filmed Perfect Match in February and March 2022. Since the show aired, the couple have broken up and revealed new details about their break-up.

Joey and Kariselle were the only couple on Perfect Match season 1 who matched every week, as they were drawn to each other from the start. They remained strong despite being in a house with flirty Netflix reality TV show singles. Kariselle was tempted by Chase DeMoor, but proved her loyalty to Joey. The couple had an on-again-off-again fling for two years before filming, but ended up dating and then becoming engaged when Joey proposed before the finale. However, their fellow housemates ultimately voted Georgia Hassarati and Dom Gabriel the perfect match, though Joey and Kariselle declared they were each other's perfect matches.

Why Did Joey & Kariselle Split After Perfect Match?

Joey recently discussed his Perfect Match season 1 split with Variety. "Relationships in general are extremely difficult and it’s hard to sit here and say exactly what happened because it’s extremely personal between the both of us," Joey confessed about the downfall of his relationship. Francesca Farago previously accused Joey of ghosting Kariselle on the Almost Adulting podcast, which led to Kariselle cutting ties and being heartbroken. “We have so much in common, but I just think that we really tried to do everything we could to work on everything. .… That chapter of my life is over," Joey said.

Where Do Joey & Kariselle Stand After Perfect Match?

Joey appears to have shut the door on rekindling things with Kariselle. However, she indicated this would be difficult for her to do in the Netflix YouTube update, given her strong feelings for him. Joey told Variety that the exes now have a cordial relationship, and said that they have “the same attitude toward each other.” When it comes to his current dating life, Joey isn't ready to reveal his relationship status publicly after Perfect Match. “I have dated. I have talked to people. I have had those experiences, but I just don’t want to put that out there for the world," he told Variety. Meanwhile, Kariselle has also not indicated any new romances.

Though Francesca, who appeared on Perfect Match and is close friends with Kariselle, pointed at the split being messy, it appears like Kariselle and Joey have been able to patch up their bad blood since. Kariselle appeared regretful to not be able to marry Joey when she filmed the Netflix update, while Joey did take responsibility for their break-up. However, they both appear to have moved on since parting ways. Kariselle is busy with her work in the entertainment industry and is even releasing break-up songs. Meanwhile, Joey has stuck to his sobriety and is focusing on himself since his Perfect Match split.
