Rob Gronkowski Has No Intentions Of Losing 24/7 Championship, Says He's Beefing Up Security

Rob Gronkowski wants protection from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as he has no intention of dropping his 24/7 Championship despite his NFL return.
Having only recently signed a deal with WWE, the former New England Patriots tight end has made a return to football after spending a year out, reuniting with Tom Brady in Tampa on the back of a trade from the Pats.

WWE, though, promptly let him know he's still obligated to defend the 24/7 Championship.
“Congratulations to Rob Gronkowski, the current WWE 24/7 Champion, on his return to football," the promotion stated. "Per the rules of the 24/7 title, Gronk must defend his championship at all times in any location. He could be celebrating a touchdown pass from #TomBrady…anytime, anywhere.”
Gronk's NFL contract prohibits him from wrestling, with football deals generally preventing players from taking part in any activities they could suffer injury from that isn't football. But the 24/7 champ is keen on defending his belt and has said he's looking to beef up his security in a video posted to Twitter on Wednesday night.
“Yes, we need a lot of security. We need a lot of security everywhere. Every tunnel, every entrance," he said. "Everywhere in the stadium, because I’m the 24/7 WWE title belt champion right now, of the world. Everyone’s coming for me. My friends are coming for me, and it’s special right now to have it during this quarantine time because no one can find me.
"No one gets me. So I’m the champ for a while. I am the champ right now and everyone is going to be coming for me. I got to have extra security. But what’s crazy is the security people. It’s the 24/7 belt. Anyone can win it at any time. So I better watch out. I got to watch my own back.”
He's Probably Gonna Be Back One Day
Gronk hosted WrestleMania 36 this year and was supposed to wrestle at SummerSlam before deciding to return to football, but his WWE career couldn't have started at a worse time as the company is believed to be in dire financial straits and had to release several employees last week.
His departure frees them from his contract, which is probably going to be reinstated once he retires from football again. Who knows?
