Overview of defining data disguise criteria - Documentation for BMC AMI DevX File-AID/RDX 23.01

Writer Owen Barnes

This section introduces the data privacy function for related extracts. It requires that you also have File-AID/Data Solutions installed at your site.

To illustrate the Data Privacy function, you will:

  • Allocate a Data Disguise Control File
  • Allocate a Data Disguise Criteria File
  • Specify the File-AID/Data Solutions parameters for the Data Disguise function
  • Define disguise criteria for objects in the extract request you saved in Extract—With User Profile SAMPMENU.
    • Define related criteria for FRSAMP.ORDER_TABLE
    • Define associated criteria for FRSAMP.CUSTOMER
    • Assign an associated rule to FRSAMP.CONTACT, FRSAMP.CONTACT_TABLE, and FRSAMP.CUSTOMER_TABLE
    • Define unrelated criteria for FRSAMP.PART_TABLE
    • Define associated criteria for FRSAMP.ORDER_TABLE
    • Assign associated rules to FRSAMP.ORDERTAB
  • Execute extract request with disguise enabled
  • Disguise existing extract file

Preparations for the Data Disguise Translate Functions

For the disguise sample criteria to be defined in this section, you need to have copied the FRSAMP.TRANSLAT PDS. The examples use these sample translate table members:

  • LASTNAME
  • SSANDCC

You can also create your own translate tables:

  • LASTNAME with an LRECL of at least 30 and made up contact names that are different from the contact names in the FRSAMP tables.
  • SSANDCC with an LRECL of at least 33 and made up customer numbers (6 characters, positions 1-6), social security numbers (11 characters, positions 7-17), and credit card numbers (16 characters, positions 18-33) that are different from the values in the FRSAMP tables.

Screens and Pop-Up Windows of the Data Privacy Function

The following list identifies the names of all the Data Privacy screens and pop-up windows within File-AID/RDX and File-AID/Data Solutions as well as their relationship to each other. The pop-up windows are listed directly below the name of the screen that it follows:
