Mike Tauchman Stats & Scouting Report — College Baseball, MLB Draft, Prospects

Writer Isabella Bartlett

A rare bright spot on a Bradley team that posted a program-worst 2-19 record in the Missouri Valley Conference, Tauchman led NCAA Division I with a .425 average through league tournament play. He joined former big leaguer Mike Dunne as the only Braves ever to win MVC player of the year accolades. Tauchman's disciplined, line-drive approach allows him to hit for high average, and there's enough strength in his 6-foot-2, 215-pound frame for perhaps average power if he adds more loft to his lefthanded stroke. A good athlete who was a high school quarterback, he has average speed and plus arm strength. He shows good instincts on the bases and in the outfield. Tauchman fits best in right field and won't profile as more than a fourth outfielder without adding home run pop, but he should provide nice value as a senior sign.
