Professional Background

Dr. Leslie Whittenburg is from the small town of Greenwood, AR.  She graduated from  Arkansas Tech University with a major in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Psychology and attended medical school at the University of Arkansas.  

Dr. Whittenburg chose KU for residency because of the camaraderie between the faculty, staff, and residents, and because of the friendliness and openness exhibited by faculty during her interviews.  These qualities are still apparent over three years later. From teh first time she visited, Kansas City felt like home and she plans to remain in KC after graduation. 

She and her husband, Brenden, have two dogs and recently had thier first child, Nel, in August 2023!
