Eddie Guerrero's First 10 WWE PPV Matches, Ranked From Worst To Best

Writer Isabella Bartlett

Eddie Guerrero was unquestionably one of the greatest in-ring performers to grace a WWE ring. However, Latino Heat was still finding his groove in WWE in 2000, and some of his first batch of matches on pay-per-view were brilliant, and others were poor.

It didn't matter if he was a babyface or a heel, Eddie Guerrero tore the house down with some legendary matches. Sadly, Eddie passed away prematurely in 2005 at the age of 38. Fans bitterly miss Guerrero and he left a lasting legacy inside the squared circle.

Guerrero was going for his patented Frog Splash but Venis moved out of the way. In retaliation, Guerrero put his knees when Venis tried to execute the Money Shot. Ultimately, Venis advanced to the semifinals with a Fisherman Suplex.

Rikishi dominated the match, and Chyna saved Guerrero from the humiliation of getting a Stinkface. Rikishi was closing in on the IC Title when he nailed Guerrero with a devastating Banzai Drop. However, Chyna stopped the referee from counting Guerrero's shoulders down. Eddie retained the title by disqualification as Rikishi kicked Chyna and gave her a Banzai Drop.

The Radicalz went their separate ways by May 2000 but they were back together once again in the fall of that year. At Survivor Series, the combination of Eddie Guerrero, Light Heavyweight Champion Dean Malenko, Perry Saturn, and Chris Benoit looked like a cohesive unit. They squared off with Chyna, Billy Gunn, Road Dogg, and K-Kwik in a traditional Survivor Series elimination match.

Guerrero played a pivotal role in his ex-fiancee Chyna's elimination when he nailed her with his Intercontinental Title belt. However, he didn't last very long as Gunn overpowered him, and eliminated him with his patented One and Only.

Venis did a lot of the hard yards as he did everything in his power to keep the Intercontinental Championship in his possession. Trish was by far the weak link of this match, and it was a captivating title bout to watch. There was some good action but the night belonged to Chyna who dismantled Trish for her second Intercontinental Title reign.

Eddie Guerrero was a babyface at this time, and he put the European Championship on the line against Essa Rios at Backlash 2000. However, Guerrero was not dressed in his traditional in-ring gear as he wrestled in trousers and dress shoes from the prom. Nevertheless, this was a fast-paced match and both men pulled out all of the stops with their aerial moves.

The former Light Heavyweight Champion took it to Guerrero as he launched himself over the top rope with an outstanding flip. It was a valiant effort from Rios but Guerrero wasn't ready to lose the European Title with an airplane spin that he turned into a brilliant neck breaker.

1 Eddie Guerrero Vs. Chris Jericho - Insurrextion 2000

This European Championship match went back and forth, and Jericho was determined to gain some revenge as Chyna cost him the European Championship in the first place. Ultimately, Jericho did not head back to the United States with two championships as Guerrero narrowly hung onto his title.
