Danhausen Curses William Regal After AEW Dynamite Goes Off Air
James Rogers
WWE has released a lot of people since the start of the pandemic. However, arguably one of its biggest losses, and perhaps biggest mistakes, was William Regal. The British star was part of the group of backstage NXT talent that was wished well in their future endeavors at the start of 2022. He has since been picked up by AEW and is leading a brand new faction, The Blackpool Combat Club.
Come On Down, Danhausen
Regal kicked off his new club by recruiting Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley, and the three of them have since added Wheeler Yuta to their ranks. The Club didn't do much on Dynamite this week, but they did make an appearance for the in-house fans after the show went off the air. The four of them invited Danhausen to the ring, and the curious new addition to the AEW roster obliged.

Danhausen kicked off the off-air segment by complimenting Regal on his fit. In fact, Danhausen liked Regal's clobber so much that he demanded the BCC's leader hand over his suit and shoes. When Regal understandably declined, Danhausen proceeded to place a curse on him. Unlike Hook, who has been unaffected by curses, much to Danhausen's annoyance, Regal's legs proceeded to seemingly give out from under him as he struggled to stay upright.
Lift The Curse!
Yuta immediately ran to Regal in an attempt to help him as Danielson pleaded with Danhausen to lift the curse. Moxley, in typical Moxley fashion, just sort of walked around, unimpressed by the whole thing. In fairness, that's probably how Mox reacts to everything, no matter how shocking or ridiculous. Danhausen eventually caves and lifts the curse, giving Regal back control of his legs.
If you have seen Regal's work in AEW so far, or listened to his recent appearances on podcasts, you will know how legitimately tough he is. However, the off-air segment above is a welcome reminder of just how great an entertainer Regal can be. While he may have a preference for a more legitimate feeling product, there's a reason he had such an on-air impact in WWE for so long, and his work with Danhausen is a great representation of that.
