Cody Rhodes Was Jealous Of One WWE Superstar

Cody Rhodes has a memorable run in the WWE, winning two Intercontinental Championships and successfully following the footsteps of his late father, Hall of Famer Dusty.
One of Rhodes' best runs with the WWE was when he was part of 'The Legacy', a faction that also consisted of Randy Orton and Ted DiBiase Jr. All three members were sons of Hall of Famers - Orton's father being 'Cowboy' Bob and Dibiase Jr. being the son of Ted 'The Million Dollar Man'.
Even though the three experienced plenty of success together, Cody recently admitted on E&C's Pod Of Awesomeness (transcriptions via WrestlingInc.com), that he was actually jealous of Ted Jr.
"With The Legacy particularly, I was the ugly duckling. I had a great spot, but I was the fall guy," Rhodes said. "Teddy was positioned to be the next Randy. Randy was the man."
Rhodes also talked about having to "supersede," Dibiase, and knew the challenges of out-performing the other mid-card talents. Rhodes went on to explain why he was jealous of DiBiase.
"We did a South America tour and after a show, Teddy got real drunk on the bus. Many guys get real drunk on the bus," Rhodes said. "I loved Teddy, but I was really jealous of him, just incredibly jealous of him."
Rhodes explained a time where DiBiase began to playing a piano whilst heavily intoxicated. To Cody's surprise, DiBiase actually played it real well, and that's when he decided he wouldn't be able to compete with his Legacy counterpart.
Rhodes may have felt like he couldn't catch up to DiBiase, but the former carved out quite a WWE career for himself. On top of the aforementioned Intercontinental titles, Rhodes won a total of six Tag Team Championships in the WWE. He even stayed in the WWE until May 2016, whereas DiBiase had left the promotion three years earlier.
Now, Rhodes is enjoying a successful run with New Japan Pro Wrestling, where he's one of the top main event performers. As for DiBiase, he briefly worked in the independent circuit but has been out of the ring for a few years.
