Brock Lesnar Unsure How Long He'll Be Around, Technically Retired In 2020

Despite being one of the most famous WWE Superstars of all time and competing for more than 20 years, Brock Lesnar has managed to remain an enigma to most. That's why whenever The Beast Incarnate opens up, even if it's only a little bit, it's fascinating. Ahead of his match with Omos at WrestleMania this past weekend, he did exactly that with fellow UFC alumnus, Daniel Cormier.
How Long Does Lesnar Have Left
One of the biggest questions Cormier had for Lesnar was if he has any idea when his in-ring career will come to an end. Prior to WrestleMania, there were reports circulating that claimed Lesnar was telling people in WWE that he was finishing up with the company. The answer he gave Cormier on the matter suggests that's not the case, but he did admit he considered himself retired three years ago.

“I don't know. I don't know how much more... I don't know how long I'm gonna be around,” Lesnar answered (H/T to F4W Online for the transcription). “In 2020, I retired and was gonna be just done. I had my 20 years, COVID hit, my contract was up. I had my first match in Hamel, Minnesota in an empty garage. Here I was 20 years later, fighting Drew McIntyre in front of no people for the WWE Championship. I was like, 'You know what? It came full circle,' and I was truly done.”
Retired After WrestleMania 36
Lesnar lost the WWE Title to McIntyre at WrestleMania 36 and didn't return to WWE for 18 months. Vince McMahon called Lesnar to ask if he was interested in coming back and he flew down to hash out a deal. The Beast had a caveat, though. “I was like, 'I don't want to cut my beard or cut my hair.' And he's like, 'I love it.' So here we are.”
Lesnar went on to say every time he thinks he's done, he gets back in the building and in the ring and loves it so much that he changes his mind. That means he may well have told people he was finishing up and meant it a month ago, but he has changed his mind since. It certainly seems like he has at least one more match in him after starting a feud with Cody Rhodes on Raw.
