AEW's Samoa Joe Will Play Sweet Tooth In Peacock's Twisted Metal Adaptation

Since a huge part of what makes a great pro wrestler is their ability to act, it makes sense that a lot of wrestlers eventually transition into TV and Hollywood. One of the biggest movie stars in the world right now is a man who got his start in WWE. Others who have found varying levels of success in the acting world include Stone Cold, Sasha Banks, Hulk Hogan, and most recently, AEW's Samoa Joe.
Samoa Joe Is Sweet Tooth
Joe appears to be leaning into the video game world more than anything, something he's a huge fan of, after confirming this week that he will be a part of the upcoming Twisted Metal adaptation. Deadline first reported the news, revealing Joe will play the iconic series' evil clown, Sweet Tooth. If you've already heard Will Arnett (Arrested Development) had been cast in the role, you'd be correct. Both men will be playing Sweet Tooth.

While Arnett will be voicing the killer clown, Joe will be the one who physically plays him, something Peacock and PlayStation are able to get away with since Sweet Tooth wears a mask. Think Hayden Christensen being inside the suit of the returning Darth Vader in Obi-Wan Kenobi, but James Earl Jones (at age 91, by the way) also returning to supply the iconic voice.
Sweet Tooth And King Shark
This is the second major acting role Joe has landed in a video game project. The other is effectively the opposite of this one where Joe will be lending his voice to a well-known character, but not his likeness. The former NXT Champion is the voice of King Shark in Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League. The DC game was supposed to launch in 2022 but recently had its release date pushed back into 2023.
There's currently no timeline on when exactly Twisted Metal will debut on Peacock. The project is shaping up to be something pretty special and will be the chance for Joe to show an entirely different side of himself, not to mention acquaint himself with a whole new audience. It's one of many PlayStation games being adapted for the small screen right now alongside The Last Of Us, God of War, and more.
