AEW's Kris Statlander Has Surgery On Injured Knee

Writer Owen Barnes

AEW star Kris Statlander is recovering from knee surgery! The 27-year-old wrestler updated fans on her recovery when she took to social media on Wednesday, September 7 to share an image of herself laying in a hospital bed with the tongue-in-cheek caption "I must’ve been thinking of you when I got injured, because you make my knees weak."

AEW announced Statlander's injury during the August 10 edition of AEW Dynamite on TBS when Tony Schiavone revealed that Statlander had been forced to pull out of action until further notice. Sadly, this isn't the first time Statlander has been on the sidelines. As you might recall, Statlander suffered an ACL injury in 2020 and missed nearly a year of action.

"Welp. One knee fixed, one to go," Statlander tweeted on August 11. "After the first knee injury I came back stronger and better than ever so it’s all over for you all when I come back from this one. I’m sorry to let you all [down] once again. I’ll be back bigger, more powerful, and more than a woman."

When she's at full fitness, Statlander is one of the most exciting in-ring performers on the AEW roster. Her absence from AEW's burgeoning women's division will certainly be noticed, but you can bet she'll be raring to reclaim her spot at the top of the rankings when she eventually returns to action.

We here at TheSportster would like to wish Kris a very speedy recovery.
