Young Fan Jumps Barricade After SmackDown, Confronts Cody Rhodes (VIDEO)

Fans inside New York's Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum were treated to some bonus content after the TV cameras stopped rolling on the May 6 edition of WWE SmackDown on FOX. After the show went off the air, Cody Rhodes participated in yet another dark match with his WrestleMania Backlash opponent Seth Freakin Rollins ... but that's not all that happened.
Cody won the match and kept his 100% post-return record against Rollins alive, but when the match was over, The American Nightmare greeted fans at ringside and took selfies with a few lucky members of the WWE Universe -- including one very eager kid who actually jumped the barricade in an effort to meet his hero.
As you can see in the video above, Cody handles the situation well. At first, he's clearly unsure of the protocol, but he soon puts a comforting arm around the young fan's shoulder and helps him back to his seat.

Later, Cody took to Twitter to commemorate the moment and reveal that the find did eventually achieve his goal.
"This popped me. He ended up getting the pic," Rhodes tweeted. "Good kiddo."
Typically, things don't end well for fans who cross the proverbial Rubicon that is the barricade at a professional wrestling event, but it's much easier to appear harmless when you are but a tiny child.
Cody made his triumphant and highly-anticipated return to WWE on WrestleMania Saturday when he was revealed as Rollins' mystery opponent. Cody came out on top following a brilliant match and opened up the subsequent edition of Raw with a promo in which he said he came back to WWE to finally fulfill the Rhodes family legacy.
In case you missed it, Rollins challenged Rhodes to a WrestleMania Backlash match following the latter's victory over The Miz on the April 11 edition of RAW. Cody accepted, and the match was made official.
