WWE Officially Changes Sarah Logan's Name To Valhalla
Daniel Cobb
Sarah Logan is no more in WWE. While she's back and working with The Viking Raiders, her name has officially been changed and she'll go by the title Valhalla instead. Michael Cole mentioned the change during Friday's episode of SmackDown, saying the WWE Superstar was formerly known as Sarah Logan, but will now go by the game the gods have given her. In Norse mythology, Valhalla is the hall of slain warriors, who live there blissfully under the leadership of the god Odin. It's not clear if that's where WWE is going with this, but the word is closely associated with many Viking shows and the warriors that play those characters in the genre. As outlined by Britannica, "Valhalla is depicted as a splendid palace where the warriors spend every day feasting on a freshly slaughtered boar, drinking liquor that flows from the udder of a goat, and fighting one another for sport." It is a compound noun composed of the words valr, meaning “the fallen,” and höll, meaning “hall.” In other words, Valhalla means “hall of the fallen.”
The Valhalla name was used in a series of vignettes promoting the return of the tag team, but it wasn't clear during those vignettes that Logan would be going by that name moving forward. The team returned on the November 11th edition of SmackDown, and it wasn't mentioned then either. Perhaps this is a new development and the added storyline that she takes orders from the gods and then gives those orders to Erik and Ivar is an intriguing twist.

It Is A Big Step Up For The Raid
Essentially, it sounds like Logan is now the leader of the team and a bit more than a manager. She's the guide to these warriors and in many ways, the conscience of their actions. They do her bidding because the bidding comes at the order of a higher power. One thing is for certain, this is a much more dominant team than in the past. They are changed and WWE seems to be pushing them to a new level of ferocity.
