And when we are a time of transition or personal growth, we often think about the person we want to be and the aspects of ourselves we want to build on. As such, we also notice qualities in others we admire and would like to embody. Dream analyst Lauri Loewenberg told Bustle that when you dream of marrying someone, you should "ask yourself what stands out about them to you...Maybe they are always volunteering and doing charitable work. That would likely be what they represent to you, in which case your subconscious is proposing the idea of ... being more charitable in your own life." In short, she says, when it comes to the qualities of the bride or groom you meet at the end of the dream aisle, "at least one of them is a quality you need to commit to 'til death do you part.'"

If, however, you dream about getting married but never actually see the person you are wedding, the dream could be more about a commitment you are making in your waking life. Loewenberg says, "Whatever this commitment or obligation is, your subconscious is presenting it to you in the form of a marriage so you can better understand your role in it... are you prepared to be in it for the long haul?"
