Turns Out That $32 Million Mansion Isn't Vince McMahon's After All

Writer Matthew Cannon

Celebrities are just like the rest of us. They eat, sleep, use the bathroom, and on occasion, they have to sell their houses. That gives someone the opportunity to buy a property and forever brag about how (insert name here) used to live there. Earlier this week, we reported that one very rich person could snap up one of Vince McMahon's pricier properties. Turns out that is not the case.

The McMahon Mansion Is Not For Sale

The $32 million mansion currently for sale in Connecticut does not belong to the McMahon family. A spokesperson from WWE reached out to let us know our previous article was incorrect and that the six-bedroom house does not in fact belong to the chairman. “The article on Vince's home is incorrect. That's not his house,” the spokesperson explained.

News that the lavish home belonged to McMahon spread pretty quickly, but clearly, someone along the way made an assumption that was incorrect, ourselves included. That a $32 million house for a family in the Connecticut countryside probably belongs to the McMahons. It's a pretty well-to-do part of the country, so it stands to reason that the WWE boss wouldn't be the only one with a house like this in the area.

There's Still A Mansion For Sale If You're Interested

As for the rest of the information regarding the listing on Compass, that's all accurate. Not that it'll be of much interest to non-wrestling fans unless you're in the market for a very expensive new house. The down payment on the property for a 30-year mortgage is $6.4 million and would require monthly payments of $115,370. If you can afford those sorts of fees, then you probably don't care whether McMahon lived in the house before you or not.

McMahon might not be moving home, but he did move WWE's HQ a few years ago. The promotion no longer works out of the iconic Titan Towers and now operates from a building that reportedly costs McMahon $20 million per year to lease. WWE will run out of that building for a long time as its lease still has more than 13 years to run.
