The IInspiration Wins Impact Knockouts Tag Team Championship On Debut

The IInspiration are champs again! Former WWE Superstars Cassie Lee (Peyton Royce) and Jessia McKay (Billie Kay) have kicked off their IMPACT Wrestling careers by winning the IMPACT Knockouts Tag Team Championship during their debuts at Bound For Glory 2021.
It all went down on October 23, 2021 at Sam's Town Live in Sunrise Manor, Nevada. The IInspiration (formerly The IIconics) defeated Decay (Havok & Rosemary) in the opening match of the show to claim the gold and end Decay's 99-day reign as champs.
The match itself was a tad sloppy, but Lee and McKay haven't worked a match since March and April respectfully. The last time they worked together as a tag team since August of 2020, so it's not surprising that they're dealing with a bit of ring rust. Even so, there were promising signs, and it's great to have the iconic duo back together in a ring.

The victory means that The IIconics are now the first tag team to hold both the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship and the IMPACT Knockouts Tag Team Championship. As you might recall, they captured the WWE tag titles in a Fatal Four-Way match at WrestleMania 35. The match also featured Beth Phoenix & Natalya, Nia Jax & Tamina, and The Boss 'N' Hug Connection (Bayley & Sasha Banks), who were the defending champs at the time.
Lee and McCay parted ways with WWE back in April. Following their releases, IMPACT began teasing their arrival almost immediately.
As we reported, IMPACT revealed that Lee and McKay would be debuting at Bound For Glory earlier this month.
"The IInspiration is coming to Bound For Glory – and they’re coming for the Knockouts Tag Team Championships! In the closing moments of Knockouts Knockdown, we learned that Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay will be making their IMPACT debut at Bound For Glory," an IMPACT press release read at the time. "We can now confirm that The IInspiration will compete at IMPACT Wrestling’s biggest event of the year as they challenge Decay for the Knockouts Tag Team Championships!"
