Tabitha Harmon Obituary: The family and friends of a Corbin, Kentucky, lady who died of addiction have demanded awareness in response to drug use that is prohibited in the area. On Monday night, a 32-year-old mother of three was discovered dead after a heroin overdose. Tabitha Harmon reportedly overdosed on drugs and died.
Tbitha was a well-known methamphetamine dealer in the area, according to early accounts. She was taken into custody by Whitley County law enforcement in October.
When Whitley County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived at a house on Maple Creek Road on Saturday to investigate a trespassing complaint, they spoke with a woman who identified herself as Ashley Harmon. She allegedly ran away when a deputy told her he thought the name was fake.
A deputy pursued her into a briar patch before catching up with her and taking her into custody. Investigators added that, with the assistance of Whitley County E911 dispatchers and the Whitley County Detention Center, they discovered the woman’s true name is Tabitha Harmon of Corbin.
The 25-year-old allegedly had three outstanding arrest warrants, one for methamphetamine trafficking, according to detectives. According to reports, she was also accused of posing as someone else, eluding authorities, and fighting arrest. Whitley County Detention Center was where she was being held prisoner.
