The acclaimed drama series Snowfall reveals a new teaser trailer for season 5, along with a premiere date. Co-created by the late John Singleton, Eric Amadio, and Dave Andron, Snowfall premiered on FX in 2017. The series revolves around the crack epidemic in 1983 and how it impacted Los Angeles. To tell the story, viewers are introduced to several characters as their lives intersect: the young drug dealer Franklin Saint (Damson Idris), Mexican luchador Gustavo “El Oso” Zapata (Sergio Peris-Mencheta), CIA operative Teddy McDonald (Carter Hudson), and the niece of a Mexican crime boss named Lucia Villanueva (Emily Rios).

Snowfall season 5 was confirmed earlier this year, and more recently, FX Networks revealed that the new season will premiere on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. Snowfall, which has garnered strong critical acclaim, will begin season 5 in the summer of 1986 with a focus on Franklin and his entire family. Now extremely wealthy, the dreams of the crew seem well within reach. That is, at least, until everything falls apart. The tragic death of basketball star Len Bias makes the cocaine epidemic headline news and an easy target for both Republican and Democrat politicians. Law enforcement is similarly on the warpath, which proves especially notable given the militarization of the Los Angeles Police Department and the decision to handle the drug problem through sheer force.
