Riddle And Orton Could Be WWE's Next Rock 'N' Sock Connection
Daniel Davis
Mick Foley believes Randy Orton and Riddle have a little bit of Rock N' Sock Connection in them. It's hard not to see where he's coming from based on the last couple weeks of their interaction with each other.
The most unlikely of partners, Orton and Riddle have teamed together twice now in WWE and won fairly handily both times. Their chemistry is obvious, even if they aren't officially a team and you can tell the duo is having a blast. Foley has noticed and he would know because he went through the same experience 20-some years ago with The Rock.
At the time, Foley and The Rock made almost no sense. Yet, for some reason it worked. Foley was insane -- in the most adorable of ways -- and The Rock was incredibly serious, uttering catch phrase after catch phrase and trying to stay on top of the WWE main event scene.
The RKBro Dynamic Is The Same
The relationship WWE is selling here is nostalgically similar to the one Foley and The Rock created back in the day. The Rock would grow annoyed with Foley who was just trying to have fun. Numerous times The Great One wanted to dump Mrs. Foley's baby boy but every time they teamed together, they wound up winning. It was WWE's version of the odd couple, but it was a perfect fit.
Orton and Riddle are the same. Like Foley, Riddle is a bit off his rocker. His harmless joking around only drives the very goal-oriented Orton insane, but Orton likes to win. He's putting up with Riddle's antics because they're on the right side of the ledger.

Eventual Tag Team Champions
It will take some time, but Orton will come to eventually appreciate, respect and even like Riddle. Like Daniel Bryan and Kane, Booker T and Goldust, or Steve Austin and Kurt Angle, this is a formula that has worked for WWE in the past. It's pretty easy to see where this is going.
At some point, this team will hold the Raw Tag Team Titles. Rock 'n' Sock held the belts three times, and this 2021 duo may not hold them as long but they will get them. In cases like this where unlikely duos are thrown together, one of the best ways to get them over is have them unexpectedly win the gold. The only question will be, how long does it last before Orton turns on Riddle? He's bound to, because a) he's The Viper and b) it would be the fitting ending.
For Now, It's Comedic Gold
WWE knows this formula works. "This Is Your Life" was one of the company's highest-rated segments in television history. Don't be surprised if WWE goes there at some point with these two. Obviously, it will be Riddle that initiates the celebration, likely throwing out odd Bro-ending names for everything.
What will make it so incredible is Orton's slow and methodical delivery in contrast to the hyperactivity that is the Riddle character. Orton's reactions will be the stuff of legend, creating memories that will last for years.
Let These Two Loose
Hopefully, WWE doesn't try to handcuff these two by over-scripting things. One of the best parts of the Rock 'n' Sock connection was that you never knew what was going to happen. Foley and The Rock were able to run with whatever came up and one can only hope Riddle and Orton get the same level of creative freedom.
There's a good sign that maybe this will happen considering Riddle flubbed a line backstage, gave up half way through and walked off. Not only did WWE not reprimand him for bailing on a promo, they loved it, choosing not to air the reshot footage when they could have.
Something tells me you haven't seen anything yet when it comes to these two.
