Rampage Jackson Reveals He Earned $7 Million For Chuck Liddell Title Fight

Jackson’s Purse Was Unique At The Time

Rampage Jackson, in a candid revelation on his podcast, shed light on the remarkable pay-per-view deal he secured for his UFC 71 title fight against Chuck Liddell. Jackson disclosed how the World Fighting Alliance (WFA) had bestowed upon him a lucrative pay-per-view arrangement, anticipating their inability to host such events.

When the UFC acquired his contract, they inherited this arrangement, leading to substantial earnings for Jackson. In his own words, Jackson explained:

"Imma tell you what they did though, what helped me out later though, they gave me a crazy pay-per-view deal because they knew they wasn’t gonna do pay-per-view and then Dana White, the UFC, they bought my contract. So, when I fought Chuck, they had to give me (PPV). I made like millions just off the pay-per-view… I made about seven million off the Chuck Liddell fight."

However, Jackson also revealed that the UFC, recognizing the magnitude of his pay-per-view earnings, opted to broadcast his subsequent fight against Dan Henderson on television rather than pay-per-view.

Rampage Jackson, reflecting on his career trajectory, disclosed that his contract underwent alterations without his knowledge following his lucrative pay-per-view deal for the UFC 71 title fight against Chuck Liddell. Jackson expressed uncertainty about the circumstances surrounding the changes, suggesting the possibility that his manager may have been influenced or overlooked critical details during negotiations.
