Managing processes across the server group - Documentation for Remedy Action Request System 19.02
Daniel Cobb
The Manage Process screen provides a single location to view the list of all processes running in your environment. This includes all the processes running on the servers, mid tiers, and any other environment where armonitor is present.
Use this screen to:
Required permissions
You must have either of the following permissions to access the Manage process screen:
- AR System Administrator
- AR System Configuration Administrator
- Integration Administrator
- Email Administrator
Considerations
(Windows) You cannot add an external Windows service such as Tomcat.exe, Email Engine, and Flashboard by using the Manage Process screen.
(Linux) Email Engine and Flashboard processes are considered as processes and are a part of the armonitor.conf file. Therefore, these processes are listed in the Manage Process screen.
You cannot delete a process command that you have already added.
Note
You can delete the process command only from the armonitor.cfg (armonitor.conf) file. You need to restart the AR System services after deleting a particular process.
A fully qualified server name is displayed only for the AR System server. However, a fully qualified server name is not displayed for mid tier (File Deployer process) and Smart IT (File Deployer process).
You can disable the Execute Operation
button on the Manage Process screen by setting the
Disable-Manage-Process-Operationproperty in ar.cfg totrue. This restricts any random operation on the processes and enables you to only view the processes and their status.
To monitor the processes
Select an environment within the server group. Select from the following options:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| All | Lists processes of all the components in a server group where the armonitor is running. This includes all hosts. |

| Name | Lists processes from a specific armonitor instance that you select from the drop-down list. This shows processes from a single server, midtier and, SmartIT instance within the server group. |
When you select an option, all processes running in the selected environment are displayed in the table. Additional configuration details are displayed when you select a row in the table.
