The Irish MMA Fighter Appeared In Good Spirits

Leah McCourt has shared an update on MMA fighter Ryan Curtis, who sustained life-changing injuries during a training session earlier this month. Despite enduring a broken back, broken neck, and dislocated spine with no movement from the neck down, Curtis has found solace in the outpouring of support and genuine love from well-wishers.

A GoFundMe campaign initiated by McCourt has raised £118,550 of the £150,000 target to aid in Ryan's rehabilitation, essential treatment, recovery, and to support his young family.

McCourt expressed gratitude for the overwhelming messages of support, while acknowledging the challenging emotional nights for Curtis. The focus remains on his recovery and adjusting to the significant life-altering event.

"Ryan’s mood is good during the day but at night it can be overwhelming and panicky. This is a huge life altering event and the realisation of what is happening to him is a lot to cope with right now. If you can please pray for peace over Ryan’s mind at night time. Ryan is still in icu and the main focus is his recovery from the major surgery and trauma his body has went through, for him to be able to breathe on his own without extra help."

Leah McCourt has indicated that Ryan Curtis, facing life-changing injuries, is expected to remain hospitalized for at least five months, effectively concluding his professional MMA career.

In support of Curtis and his family, McCourt has encouraged donations to a GoFundMe page to alleviate medical expenses and life costs. Curtis, who has a wife and a two-year-old daughter, is confronting a challenging journey ahead, and the contributions are aimed at providing assistance during this difficult time.
