WWE has had some truly legendary women in the company over the years. In the Attitude Era alone, there were several incredible women featured heavily that have gone on to become known as huge influences for the talent today. The likes of Sable, Trish Stratus, and Chyna were all women around back then that are still brought up regularly today as some of the best women to have ever worked for WWE.

One name that deserves to be brought up just as much as those guys, but has largely fallen by the wayside, and needs to be remembered more fondly now, is Ivory.

Originally debuting as one of The Godfather's "hos" Ivory was just a throwaway character in her early days, but somehow became one of the most entertaining, and influential women in the business throughout her run. Despite only being with WWE for six years, Ivory managed to pick up numerous championships, as well as being involved in some of the most entertaining storytelling in the company at the time.

Ivory Women's Champion Cropped

The now 60-year-old was deservedly inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018, with the company recognizing the tremendous legacy she had built for herself during her career, but now it's time for wrestling fans to also acknowledge just how important she was to the business.

Ivory Won Three Women's Championships

Anyone who wins a WWE championship in their career deserves to be recognized as someone who achieved a certain level of success, but having won three titles during her six-year run, Ivory certainly deserves it.

She won her first title from Debra just six months into her WWE tenure, and embarked on quite a significant run with the belt, defeating the likes of Tori over the next several months before she dropped it to a 76-year-old Fabulous Moolah. She eventually beat Moolah to regain the championship, but her second run lasted less than two months before she lost to Miss Kitty at Armageddon.

Just under a year later, she won her third and final Women's Championship against Jacqueline, Trish Stratus, and Lita. This was the most significant run she had as champion, picking up wins against the likes of Lita, Molly Holly, and Chyna, who would both become known as two of the most influential wrestlers in women's wrestling history.

She would eventually lose the championship to Chyna in a brief match at WrestleMania 17, and while she never regained the title throughout the rest of her time in WWE, she had already done enough to solidify her place as an all-time great.

She Was A Part Of The Very First Women's Hardcore Match In WWE

During her first run as WWE Women's Champion, Ivory turned heel for the first time in her career while she was feuding with Tori. The bitter rivalry eventually led to the two women facing off in the very first women's hardcore match in WWE history.

Being involved in such a significant milestone for women's wrestling is enough to ensure Ivory should be considered one of the most important wrestlers in women's wrestling history. Not only did she take part, and win the first women's hardcore match in WWE history, but she also tried to be the very first female Hardcore Champion when she tried to defeat Crash Holly, but she was unfortunately unsuccessful.

Right To Censor Was One Of The Most Unique And Entertaining Factions Of All Time

If her time as a singles wrestler wasn't enough to solidify Ivory's legacy as an all-time great, her role in Right To Censor certainly pushed her over the edge.

WWE's Right to Censor

The group, a conservative stable created to parody the Parents Television Council who were protesting the amount of violence and sexual content seen on WWE television at the time, was hugely entertaining and did their job perfectly.

Fans hated the group, and they gained a level of heat that some of wrestling's greatest villains would be envious of. They were regularly involved in some of the most entertaining aspects of WWE TV at the time, and while the group didn't last quite as long as many would have expected, they left a huge impression and made a monstrous impact on the wrestling industry as a whole.

In the last few years of her time in the company, Ivory was mostly used to train some of the younger women's wrestlers, helping to bring them through to the next generation. She may not have become the best women's wrestler of all time, but she certainly had an incredible career, and it's time for the world to appreciate her for what she was, and what she accomplished.
