How WWE Is Still Trying To Sabotage The Revival Following Their Releases

Writer Owen Barnes

Earlier this month, WWE released The Revival from their contracts - more than a year after they reportedly requested to be let go.

It was known for a while that Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder weren't going to stay in the company. And unfortunately for the former Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Champions, Vince McMahon wouldn't make it easy.

In fact, WWE still isn't fully letting these two off the hook.

According to a report from Steven Fernandes of PWInsider.com, WWE began "the process of opposing some of the trademarks" filed by The Revival. Per Ferandes, WWE is requesting "a 90-day extension to oppose" the "No Flips, Just Fists," "Say Yeah," and #FTRKO" trademarks.

The two superstars have now changed their tag team name to "Fear The Revolt," as well as their individual ring names to Dax Harwood (Dawson) and Cash Wheeler (Wilder). Their next journey hasn't been announced yet, but the signs are pointing to AEW.

When The Revival turned down new contracts from WWE, Vince reportedly decided to get even by turning them into comedic characters. Photos of the planned gimmick changes were revealed, courtesy of Cassidy Haynes from Bodyslam.net.

When asked about this on Twitter, the two humorously brushed away the question. Wheeler stated that he was pleading the fifth, while Harwood simply pointed out that they were once "voted WWE’s Match of The Year."

Vince and WWE officials clearly aren't happy about The Revival's departure. The two men held their ground and refused to bite on WWE's offers, and now can look forward to a new chapter in their careers.

Let It Go Already, Vince.

This is just a petty move on WWE's end. The Revival wanted to leave a long time ago. The company waited way too long before finally releasing them. The two superstars have moved on now, and WWE should be doing the same. There's no reason to be sour about their decision to leave. WWE underused them, and Harwood and Wheeler just want new opportunities. So WWE should just let it go and let them continue their careers peacefully.
