KU’s Health Informatics graduate certificate program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).

Interprofessional Advantage

Students in our program come from varied backgrounds and contribute a wide range of experiences. Although previous health care experience is preferred, it is not required. Just as students bring a breadth of experiences to the program so, too, do our faculty.

Designed and delivered by faculty from across the disciplines of informatics, nursing, health policy and management, public health and project management, curriculum in our certificate program offers an interprofessional advantage. Students acquire diverse skills in health informatics, as well as impact evaluation, project management and organizational change.

From Certificate to Master's Degree

After earning your health informatics certificate, you can choose to enter KU's master's degree in health informatics program. All certificate courses will count toward master's degree requirements.

Program Format

The graduate certificate is comprised of 17 total credit hours. To learn more about coursework, please visit the curriculum page. All courses can be completed online, except for practicum, which is completed at a location near the student.
