General Hospital's William Moses Opens Up About Playing Elizabeth's Absentee Dad Jeff Webber

Writer Daniel Cobb

Fans have been requesting Dr. Jeff Webber's return to "General Hospital," and the show is delivering in the form of actor William Moses. Soap Opera Digest talked to him about getting the part of Dr. Jeff Webber. Moses discussed sharing an agent with Genie Francis, who plays Laura Collins on "GH," as well as working with her on the TV movie, "Perry Mason: The Case of the Killer Kiss." He also mentioned being on the original Jeff Webber's (Richard Dean Anderson) team on the popular show, "Battle of the Network Stars." He referred to his time on "Falcon Crest," stating the actors, "set examples for me professionally that have stayed with me to this day ... I'm so grateful for the journey that show launched for me."

In taking on the role of Jeff, Moses researched the character and spoke with "GH" writers about Jeff's history. He had no idea how much the fans wanted to see the character again saying, "but maybe that's a good thing, because I probably would have felt like, 'These shoes are too big to fill!'" Moses praised Rebecca Herbst for her talent and professionalism when working on their scenes. "She's just a lovely young woman and a really gifted actress and a really nice and caring and friendly person," he said.

He finished the interview with, "This is a role that I'm getting more excited about playing daily."
