Every Bobby Lashley Title Reign In WWE, Ranked
Daniel Cobb
Bobby Lashley first made his WWE debut all the way back in 2005, and he was pushed almost instantly as one of the next big things in professional wrestling. He would have a few title reigns here and there but wouldn’t yet achieve the biggest goal of the WWE Championship, before eventually parting ways with the company at the start of 2008.

It would take him a whole decade to find his way back to WWE after achieving success outside the company. It would take him some time to find his feet, but he would eventually enjoy several prizes and runs with gold, including the WWE Title. Overall, Lashley has had eight title reigns in WWE, with some being better than others.
8 ECW World Championship (2nd Reign)
Not long after dropping the title to Mr. McMahon in a three-on-one handicap match, also involving Shane McMahon and Umaga, Lashley would reclaim the belt back after overcoming several hurdles. He defeated McMahon in Street Fight at the One Night Stand PPV in 2007. However, just days later, his reign came to an end.
After being drafted to Raw, he was forced to relinquish the ECW World Title, which was certainly a shame, although the intention was likely to make Lashley look strong after not being beaten for the title. This would’ve been more effective if he hadn’t already dropped the belt once before to the Chairman of WWE. This would be Lashley’s final reign before leaving the company in 2008.
7 Intercontinental Championship (2nd Reign)
After losing the belt to Finn Balor just a month prior, Lashley would reclaim the gold on an episode of Raw in 2019. Lashley would win zero televised matches as champion in a reign which was very short, dropping the title at the next PPV, WrestleMania 35, straight back to Finn Balor.
This flip-flopping of the belt between Balor and Lashley felt like a complete waste of time, and it made neither man look good. This reign was incredibly forgettable, and Lashley wasn’t booked like a strong champion in any way.
6 WWE Championship (2nd Reign)
WWE was playing a poor game of hot potato at the start of 2022, with the WWE Championship changing hands on several occasions, starting at the Day 1 PPV. At the Royal Rumble PPV, Lashley defeated Brock Lesnar with the help of Roman Reigns, but his reign lasted less than a month, with zero defenses or even matches in that time, due to an injury.

In the Elimination Chamber, he was written out of the match early on due to not being able to compete, ending his reign before it had even had a chance to get off the ground.
5 Intercontinental Championship (1st Reign)
This was Lashley’s first reign following his return to WWE in 2018, and it came when his character had begun getting interesting, with Lio Rush acting as his mouthpiece. He would defeat two big names, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, in a great triple threat match to be crowned champion, though he would go on to have no televised defences.
It wasn’t long until he dropped the title in poor fashion, getting beaten by Finn Balor during a two-on-one handicap match involving Rush, with the latter getting pinned. This felt like a cheap way for Lashley to drop the title, made even more pointless by the fact that he won it back a month later.
4 United States Championship (1st Reign)
Shortly after losing the King of the Ring finals to Booker T, Lashley bounced back by defeating JBL to become the United States Champion, earning his very first title in WWE. Lashley would only successfully defend the title once, beating Booker in a Steel Cage match.
Just over a month later, he would drop the title to Finlay, which was certainly an uninspiring way to end his first reign in the company. Finlay was a member of Booker T’s stable at the time, and his win began to make cracks in the faction, with the focus being far away from Lashley.
3 ECW World Championship (1st Reign)
The most memorable time of Lashley’s first stint with the company was during his run as ECW Champion. Although he was far away from what ECW was all about, he still looked strong as champion, though his reign did have a lackluster start as he won the title in perhaps the worst Elimination Chamber match of all time.
He would defend the title against the likes of Test, RVD, Big Show, Hardcore Holly, Shane McMahon, and Mr. Kennedy, even having a big match at WrestleMania 23 whilst holding the gold, as he defeated Umaga in the “Battle of the Billionaires” match.
2 United States Championship (2nd Reign)
After roaming around in poor feuds and terrible storylines, Lashley finally found his feet in 2020, aligning with MVP, Cedric Alexander, and Shelton Benjamin to form The Hurt Business. This group were a huge highlight of Raw at the time, with Lashley being made to look a million bucks, especially when he defeated Apollo Crews to become United States Champion.

He was not pinned or submitted for four months after winning the belt, being made to look like a dominant force, making the title mean something. He would eventually lose the title to Riddle, in which John Morrison was pinned in a triple threat match, protecting Lashley on his way to moving upwards to the main title scene. This reign did all the things that a midcard title run should do for a superstar.
1 WWE Championship (1st Reign)
After striking a deal with The Miz, Lashley was granted a WWE Title match against him, beating the champion in a glorified squash match to become the new WWE Champion, after over a decade of trying to reach that goal. This was the best version of Lashley, as he went most of his run as an undefeated champion, losing rarely in what felt like true upset victories.
He defeated Drew McIntyre in a series of matches, defended the belt against Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, Randy Orton, and Goldberg, whilst also beating several other superstars in non-title matches, before eventually losing the title only due to a Money in the Bank cash-in at the hands of Big E.
