Elden Ring How To Get Raptor Of The Mists

Similar to the Mist Raven Prosthetic Tool in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, the Ash of War: Raptor of the Mists in Elden Ring allows players to evade any enemy attack or ability when their hitbox is triggered. This Ash of War functions by having its user duck into a low stance and momentarily vanish. If an opponent's attack connects, the player will burst from a black mist, leaping into the air and avoiding damage. A comparison in Elden Ring could be made with Bloodhound's Step, which also has the caster turn invisible while dodging.

However, there are several notable differences between these two evasive abilities. First, Bloodhound's Step has the player sidestep on a horizontal plane, while Raptor of the Mists is a vertical dodge. Second, after the Bloodhound's Step will always use FP, but Raptor of the Mists will only consume FP if an enemy attack successfully connects. Third, Bloodhound's Step is more flexible and can be spammed consecutively, yet Raptor of the Mists can only be once as a countermove for a single attack. Additionally, the user can execute a basic attack while airborne but can also become vulnerable themselves during this moment.

Nevertheless, while Bloodhound's Step is more adaptable to one's playstyle, Raptor of the Mists is exceptionally effective after giving it some practice, especially for aggressive fighters. To acquire this powerful Ash of War in Elden Ring, Tarnished must complete a portion of Yura's questline.

Yura, also known as Bloody Finger Hunter Yura, is an NPC whom adventurers can meet around the start of their journey. He can be found camped underneath a large collapsed overpass south of Lake Agheel, slightly east of the Seaside Ruins Site of Grace. Yura will warn the Tarnished not to explore Agheel Lake because of its guardian Dragon. Whether or not players wish to slay Agheel is their choice, but it is not required to progress Yura's questline.

Next, head north up the river towards Murkwater Cave. After passing the cave's entrance, Bloody Finger Nerijus will invade the player, and Yura will appear to aid Tarnished in battle. Once the Invader has been vanquished, head further north to find Yura in a small grotto near several Jellyfish. After speaking with him, players must progress to Raya Lucaria of Liurnia. On the broken bridge past the Portal to East Gate, Tarnished will find a red summoning sign which they can use to help Yura invade Bloody Finger Ravenmount Assassin. Once the Bloody Finger is dead, the Elden Ring protagonist will be sent back to their world and receive the Ash of War: Raptor of the Mists as a reward.
