It was all set to be the biggest wedding in the history of the WWE and it was supposed to be happening today. But three weeks ago John Cena and Nikki Bella announced that they were breaking up and that - obviously - the wedding was off. However, People magazine has revealed some intimate wedding details and what would have been if the WWE super couple had tied the knot on this fine day in May!

It should come as no surprise that Nikki's sister Brie Bella was to be the matron of honor.

For the fashionistas out there, People is reporting that Nikki Bella was set to walk down the aisle in a Kate Middleton inspired dress - a Marches designed gown. John Cena did not choose to go with a custom look. In 2017 he told People:

"I also have a few decent-looking tuxes in the wardrobe already, so depending on the colors and the schemes of the wedding and the theme, I might already have something...I have a few tailors that I work with, just because I’m not exactly somebody who can buy a suit off the rack."

It probably also wont surprise anyone to know that Nikki was the one in charge of the vast majority of the wedding planning. Although, Cena was allowed a few veto privileges, and did tell the magazine that he was involved in every step of the process:

"All that information rests on her shoulders. I’m involved in every single step of the process, but I am like the last checkpoint. So, let’s say, décor will be chosen. And then I’ll be given three options but be nudged to like number two. I will politely agree to number two, but I am very much actively a part of the process."

When it came to the bachelor and bachelorette parties the couple chose two very different roads. While Nikki spent nine days in March doing the bachelorette thing in Paris with Brie and their closest friends, Cena opted not to do the stag party thing, telling E! News, "No, I mean, why? Help me out. What is a bachelor party? I’m gonna skip it."
