Dead By Daylight has an annual winter event with several new features and rewards. Players can expect game currency, cosmetics, and gameplay tweaks.

Dead By Daylight has a tradition of Winter Events, continued with the 2021 Winter Event called Bone Chill. The Bone Chill Winter Event in Dead by Daylight continues the winter tradition by introducing new rewards and gameplay elements for killers and survivors alike. Players participating in the Bone Chill Winter Event will receive daily login rewards, special cosmetic rewards, new lore, special Instagram filters, E-cards, and sales in the in-game store.

Dead By Daylight players will most readily feel the effects of the Bone Chill Winter Event through the daily login rewards. Players do not need to achieve anything to receive these login rewards; they must simply login to the game. These rewards are granted in the form of an advent calendar. The rewards last from December 1 to January 6 and include bloodpoints, Iridescent Shards, and Rift Fragments. Each of these in-game currencies is used to further players’ progress, whether they are a survivor or a killer.

Dead by Daylight's Bone Chill Winter Event also includes cosmetics such as ugly holiday sweaters for survivors, new killer weapons, and new headpieces for killers. The Winter Event also features three exclusive charms for players to unlock. During each trial, players can unlock one random cosmetic or charm from the loot pool. If they play as a survivor, they can gain a cosmetic or charm by getting hit by the killer while hiding inside a snowman. If they play as a killer, they must hit a survivor inside a snowman to gain a cosmetic or charm.

Guide To Navigating The 2021 Bone Chill Winter Event In Dead By Daylight

The cosmetic and charms in the loot pool vary in Dead by Daylight. Players are able to unlock ugly sweaters for Yun-Jin Lee, Mikaela Reid, and Jonah Vasquez. These ugly sweaters are quintessential holiday wool knit sweaters players can don for the holiday season. Players can also unlock two new weapons for the Wraith and the Hag killers, as well as two new head pieces for the Trickster and the Artist killers.

During the Bone Chill Winter Event in Dead by Daylight, six snowmen spawn within each trial. Survivors can enter the snowman to hide from killers. While inside a snowman, survivors cannot run, they walk 15% slower, they are immune to damage, they can’t have their aura revealed, they are afflicted by blindness, and they gain imperviousness to one hit from the killer. That being said; players can hide inside of a snowman as a last resort if they are being chased by the killer. They will gain a shield from one hit, however, they will have to deal with detrimental effects from being inside the snowman. Players can use snowmen along with survivors' special perks to effectively counter killers during the Bone Chill Winter Event.
