This is an optional parameter. If a BMC AMI mainframe product has only one version of that product installed, then there is not need for a FMID on any DDs. However, if more than one version is installed, the FMID allows release specificity of that product. For example, if two BMC AMI DevX Abend-AID releases are being started, then the FMID would most likely be added to one of the releases. This allows one release to get specific FMID specified DDs and the other product getting the default DDs (no FMID specified).
