Darby Allin Slept In His Car The Night Before Full Gear

All Elite Wrestling superstar Darby Allin has revealed he slept in his car the night before this month's Full Gear PPV to remind himself of where he came from.
The 27-year-old is living pretty comfortably now but has seen worse times as he spent a night sleeping in his car simply to remind himself of the struggles he had to get over to get to where he is today.

Allin would go on to defeat Cody Rhodes for the TNT Championship, a high point in his career as a member of the AEW roster. Speaking to Busted Open Radio, he said he wanted to bring himself down to earth ahead of his first major achievement as part of the company.
“I wanted to remind myself of just how sh*tty things were," he claimed. "So I slept in there [my car] and the weather in Jacksonville is still so much more muggy than other places. It was just a reminder to myself. You don’t need to forget where you came from just because this week’s huge. To keep it? It makes you want to fight more. So now I’m grateful to have this house with 13 acres and a wrestling ring downstairs. [Also] skate ramps and a bunch of crazy sh*t.”
A Long Way From Lying For Money
Allin had been going at Rhodes since AEW launched last year but did not manage to beat the former WWE performer until Full Gear earlier this month.
Back in January, Allin revealed having been homeless for a year, living in his car. He's even revealed his appearance on Sex Sent Me to the ER was part of a fabricated story because he needed the money.
He's come a long way since and, as long as he stays on his current trajectory, the future should be even brighter for Allin.
