Drew McIntyre picked up a massive win on Raw ahead of Elimination Chamber this weekend. The Scottish Psychopath went one-on-one with Cody Rhodes who already has his spot booked opposite Roman Reigns at WrestleMania despite The Rock's best efforts. It's that inevitable WrestleMania main event that cost Rhodes on Monday night as even though The Tribal Chief was nowhere to be seen, Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa made sure The American Nightmare didn't pick up the win.

Two Losses In Two Years

McIntyre finished Rhodes off with a devastating Claymore and despite the helping hand has been boasting about the victory ever since. That's probably somewhat fair considering the historic significance of the win. As we approach the two-year anniversary of Rhodes' WWE return, prior to Monday's Raw, the former TNT Champion had only suffered one pinfall defeat in singles competition.

This week's Raw effectively added to the build-up for WrestleMania 40, featuring a wild promo by Cody Rhodes.

Rhodes now has two one-on-one pinfall losses on his WWE record since making a comeback, and yes, McIntyre's win does join the infamous blemish on Rhodes' record you're thinking of. The only other Superstar to enter the ring with Rhodes and pin his shoulders to the mat for three seconds is Reigns himself. His victory coming in the main event of WrestleMania 39, and yes, just like McIntyre, the Undisputed Champion couldn't get the job done without additional help from Uso and Sikoa.

Other Losses

Worth noting that Rhodes has lost other matches since returning to WWE. Tag matches in which he teamed with Jey Uso, a triple threat on Raw in which The Miz was the one who took the pin, and his loss to Brock Lesnar, but that was via submission. Pretty impressive that Rhodes has only been pinned twice in almost two years, and despite the help, a huge win for McIntyre that couldn't have come at a better time for the Scot.

McIntyre will battle five other Superstars inside the Elimination Chamber this weekend. The winner of that match will go on to face Seth Rollins at WrestleMania for the World Title. Not only does McIntyre's win over Rhodes make him the favorite to emerge from the Chamber victorious on Saturday, but it also suggests that momentum will carry him to a championship win at WrestleMania.
