Carlito Appears To Be Telling People He Has Signed With WWE

Backlash in Puerto Rico was a huge success for WWE for a number of reasons. Mainly the match that pitted Bad Bunny against Damian Priest. Not only did Bad Bunny get a huge reaction from the in-house fans since he was the hometown hero, but returning wrestlers who also hail from Puerto Rico Savio Vega and Carlito got big reactions too.
Carlito May Have Re-Signed With WWE
Carlito got the bigger reaction of the two which once again sparked a want from fans for him to return to WWE full-time. Not the first time this has happened in recent years, but it seems the two parties have managed to come to some sort of agreement this time. According to a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio (via Cultaholic), Carlito has been telling people he is back with WWE.

The report stems from the former US Champion canceling an independent booking he had coming up (July 15), apparently telling the promoter he has to pull out after re-signing with WWE. No word yet on other dates Carlito has reportedly canceled so it's currently anyone's guess when he shows up again on WWE TV.
When Might He Show Up?
It seems unlikely the apple-spitting Superstar will be back before Money in the Bank which is now only a little more than two weeks away. Although, perhaps his rivalry with Priest continues to re-kick things off and Carlito shows up at the premium live event to foil the Judgment Day member's attempt to win the contract.
Although Carlito hasn't been a full-time WWE Superstar since 2010, the Puerto Rican made an unexpected return to the promotion during the 2021 men's Royal Rumble. That led to a second match the night after, but despite fan demand, Carlito left again, not returning until this year's Backlash. Whatever prevented a full return in 2021 has seemingly been cleared up and we will likely see Carlito back on WWE TV on a regular basis very soon.
