Manny Pacquiao's former promoter, Bob Arum, is eager to witness the multi-weight champion make a comeback to the boxing ring. Despite being 44 years old, Pacquiao shows no signs of concluding his illustrious career. The legendary boxer has expressed his desire for one more fight and is actively exploring avenues to qualify for the 2024 Olympics.

Pacquiao's most recent bout took place in August 2021 in the welterweight division against Yordenis Ugas for the WBA (Super) welterweight title. He lost that match by unanimous decision. Notably, Pacquiao holds the unique distinction of being the only boxer in history to secure twelve major world titles across eight different weight divisions. At the age of 40, he also achieved the record of becoming the oldest welterweight world champion by defeating Keith Thurman and claiming the WBA (Super) welterweight title.

In an interview with ProBox TV, Bob Arum outlined his plans for the former undisputed light-welterweight champion, Josh Taylor and it involves Pacquiao. Although the Scottish boxer has not yet committed to staying in the super lightweight division or moving up to welterweight, Arum stated, “We’re looking to have a fight sometime, certainly by April of next year. I don’t know who we’re going to match him with, but he’ll be back. He’s a terrific fighter; a great kid, and he’ll be back during the first four months of 2024.

He then proposed a potential fight with his former boxer. “A guy I’d like to get for Taylor is Pacquiao. I think that’d be a good fight, at a catchweight or maybe at 147. I think that’s a fight that Pacquaio would be interested in.” Taylor lost his WBO and The Ring light-welterweight titles to Teofimo Lopez in June. Prior to the fight, he won a controversial decision against Jack Catterall by split decision.
