Manny Pacquiao Is Yet To Officially Retire From Boxing
In an interview with ProBox TV, Bob Arum outlined his plans for the former undisputed light-welterweight champion, Josh Taylor and it involves Pacquiao. Although the Scottish boxer has not yet committed to staying in the super lightweight division or moving up to welterweight, Arum stated, “We’re looking to have a fight sometime, certainly by April of next year. I don’t know who we’re going to match him with, but he’ll be back. He’s a terrific fighter; a great kid, and he’ll be back during the first four months of 2024.
He then proposed a potential fight with his former boxer. “A guy I’d like to get for Taylor is Pacquiao. I think that’d be a good fight, at a catchweight or maybe at 147. I think that’s a fight that Pacquaio would be interested in.” Taylor lost his WBO and The Ring light-welterweight titles to Teofimo Lopez in June.
