Baron Corbin Reveals Whose Idea It Was To Give Becky Lynch An End Of Days

Baron Corbin has revealed who was the brains behind the most shocking thing he did inside of a wrestling ring in 2019.
There once was a time in WWE where fans wouldn't bat an eyelid should a little intergender wrestling infiltrate their weekly viewing. Chris Jericho's first major feud in WWE was with Chyna over the Intercontinental Title. Nowadays, although still utilized frequently in other promotions, it is hardly ever used in WWE. That makes it even more shocking and noteworthy when it is.
When WWE does have a male Superstar clash with a female Superstar, they need to be very careful, and it needs to be a moment worth taking that risk. Nia Jax and Dean Ambrose clashing then leading nowhere is an example of poor execution. What Baron Corbin did to Becky Lynch at Extreme Rules this year, however, is an example of getting it very, very right.

The moment we are referencing happened during a mixed tag team match between Corbin and Lacey Evans, and Lynch and Seth Rollins. In mixed tag matches, women are only supposed to interact with women and men with men. That's why Corbin delivering an End of Days to The Man was so shocking. Corbin recently spoke to No Holds Barred about that moment and whose idea it was.
"You know, I think that was all Vince. I think that was Vince’s master plan," Corbin revealed. "The guy, in my opinion, is a genius. And what he does and he knows when you can hit a moment and when you can really make something unpredictable." The King also discussed the silence that followed the shocking moment as fans in the building tried to process what they had just seen.
We know Corbin brags about it on SmackDown every chance he gets, but the 2019 King of the Ring has had one heck of a year. The tournament win, hitting Lynch with an End of Days, retiring Kurt Angle, defeating Roman Reigns. Fans might not want him to be Universal Champion in 2020, but King Corbin definitely has every right to be in that conversation as we head into the New Year.
