After Insane Masters Announcement, Sir Nick Faldo’s Incredible 2-Word Tweet Leaves Golf World in Shock

Writer Matthew Cannon

Sir Nick Faldo is a widely-revered personality in the golf community. The retired pro golfer pleasantly surprised golf fans last month by announcing his return to the broadcasting booth for the Masters. After his six-month-long retirement, Faldo joined Sky Sports as a pundit, enthralling fans once again with his commentary.

Over the past few months, the 3-time Masters champion has also immersed himself in the PGA vs LIV debate, directing criticism at the Saudi-backed faction from time to time. The golf legend and commentator recently aimed a jibe at a podcast host for their Masters take, inciting diverse reactions from fans.

Sir Nick Faldo takes a swipe at podcast host over Brooks Koepka take

The Masters week at Augusta proved to be a thrilling one for golf fans as the PGA vs. LIV battle kept everyone hooked to their screens. 28-year-old Jon Rahm won his second major title, edging out LIV golfer Brooks Koepka in the process. Ahead of the final round, it seemed as if golf fans were slated for a fiery clash between Koepka and Rahm. However, the LIV golfer suffered a final-round collapse, finishing four strokes behind the eventual winner.

The dramatic end resulted in one of Barstool’s Fore Play podcast hosts saying that Koepka’s dismal last-round outing “ruined” the Major. Riggs, one of the four podcast hosts, also opined that the green jacket winner Rahm did not have any stress whatsoever. His comments did not sit right with Sir Nick Faldo, who did not hesitate to take a dig at his “verbal and golf accuracy.

When another Twitter user prooked Sir Faldo, taking a shot at his broadcasting career, the former pro-golfer had a hilarious comeback. “Returning soon!” replied the six-time major champion.

After a memorable appearance at the Masters this year, fans hope the golf legend will return to the broadcasting booth again.

Fans remain hopeful about Sir Nick Faldo’s return to commentary

Sir Nick Faldo’s emotional retirement from the CBS broadcasting team last year saw an onslaught of emotional reactions from fans. However, he delighted fans last month by announcing that he would be returning as an announcer for the 2023 Masters. The Englishman returned to the booth at the Augusta National with Sky Sports, ensuring a fun experience for his hordes of fans.

Now, his recent tweet has got fans hoping for another comeback.  One fan wrote that his stint at Augusta this year was “excellent.” Meanwhile, another wished for “more of the same” commentary down the road.

Your insight at Augusta for Sky was fabulous. More of the same please!

Got to love the cowardly barbs from an anonymous profile. 😜. Keep it coming Sir Nick. I appreciate your commentary.

One person also revealed that they enjoyed his takes on the LIV-PGA rivalry. Another hilariously opined that Faldo’s detractor was Greg Norman in disguise. The war of words between LIV CEO Greg Norman and Sir Nick Faldo is well-known in the world of golf.

I really enjoy Mr. Faldo's insight and respect his legendary game. Since the masters, golf media is starting to change rhetoric on the LIV golf, realizing it is here to stay. As a golf fan, I welcome more unbiased acceptance of players and less PGA tour anti-comp flavor by media
