5 Reasons The WWE 24/7 Is The Best Comedy Title (& 5 Why It's The Hardcore Title)

Throughout wrestling history, titles have mostly been treated incredibly seriously. They are not just props and they are things that every wrestler aspires to hold, especially in WWE. However, two titles have slipped through those cracks and been very different.

Both the Hardcore and the 24/7 Title have gone down in history as comedy belts. They have simply provided tons of fun to audiences, but which of the two titles is the funniest?

10 24/7 Title: Conga Lines

Something that WWE has done well with the 24/7 Title is make it so that everyone wants to get their hands on it. Wrestlers chasing each other around inside the ring and at the back has been tons of fun to see.

There are some hilarious moments that have gone down well with fans and led to lots of funny spots, helping to build an early legacy for the title. The conga lines involving No Way Jose were great.

9 Hardcore Title: The Original 24 Hour Rule

The reason that the 24/7 Title has been so successful is the element that a change can happen at any point in time. However, while that is fun, it is something that has already been done.

It's tough to get better than the originator and that is why the Hardcore Title is so much fun. The title matches happened whenever and wherever, which made it such an important factor in WWE.

8 24/7 Title: Social Media

Something that the 24/7 Championship has benefitted from is having social media play a big part in the promotion of things. Whether it's a random moment on a plane that can be shared online or Drake Maverick promoting his hunt for the title, having that extra tool really helps.

It has meant that the title has been connected to the WWE Universe even more and there are more options for comedy to take place, which makes it the funnier title.

7 Hardcore Title: The Design

The 24/7 Title is not a great title in terms of aesthetics. It is very in your face and by modern standards, it is considered to be quite an ugly title. However, nothing compares to the Hardcore Title.

Right from the outset, it is impossible to take the title seriously when it literally is smashed and taped up. The title looks like a joke before anything begins, which sets a comedic tone straight away.

6 24/7 Title: More People Can Hold It

While the Hardcore Title was open for plenty of people to hold, the 24/7 Title certainly has even more. Because there is no need for a hardcore stipulation, title changes can just happen whenever and wherever.

Whether it's a current talent on either the male or female roster, a celebrity, or even a pregnant woman, this title is open to everyone and that allows for more people to hold it.

5 Hardcore Title: Crash Holly

Every title has one talent who everyone thinks about whenever they consider it, and for the Hardcore Title, it was Crash Holly. The reason for that is simply because of how often he won the title, and how much fun he brought to it.

Every time he was involved in the Hardcore Title scene it led to some amazing moments such as fighting in a ball pit. He was absolutely hilarious, yet he also made the title be something that could be taken seriously.

4 24/7 Title: Less Serious

The Hardcore Title did have some ridiculous moments within its time, but overall the championship was considered to be far more serious than the 24/7 Title. There were some legitimately very good Hardcore Title matches that took place on big PPV events such as WrestleMania.

The same cannot be said for the 24/7 Title. The matches for this one are always incredibly quick, often being random roll-ups and because of that, the title is instantly made to be more comedic.

3 Hardcore Title: It Was More Important

Out of the two titles, there is no doubt that the Hardcore Title was more important. While that meant that there were plenty of serious moments and genuine matches for this, it also meant that the title was given more of a focus.

It wasn't just one quick segment on Raw each week, it was given multiple segments or longer periods of time as the focus was clear from the start. It meant that the funny moments really mattered and they tended to deliver much more.

2 24/7 Title: R-Truth

R-Truth. That is all that really needs to be said in regard to why the 24/7 Championship is funnier. While the Hardcore Title had some very funny champions who did a lot with the gold, none of them tops what R-Truth has done.

He has held the title countless times and he really brings tons of joy every time he is involved in things. He brings a great level of comedy whether it's in the ring or backstage, which has helped make the title what it is.

1 Hardcore Title: Hardcore Rules = Fun

While WWE could easily make a 24/7 Title match have some fun elements to make the title even funnier, the fact is that the Hardcore Title just lends itself to a comedic sense straight away.

Being able to break the rules and use weapons while fighting around in different places just makes things a lot more fun. It is easier for the wrestlers to get this title over as a joke and that's why it was so beloved.
