5 Best Tag Team Partners Of Edge's Career (& The 5 Worst)
Matthew Cannon
During the Attitude Era, Edge was one of six men who helped revive and revolutionize tag team wrestling. Despite coming into his own as a main event singles star during the Ruthless Aggression era, Edge was still very active on the tag team scene. He's won tag team gold in WWE a jaw-dropping 14 times.

Since returning from an apparent career-ending injury in 2020, Edge has competed mostly in singles matches. Some future tag team success wouldn't be too hard to imagine though. After all, over the years, Edge has endured great and not-so-great tag team partners en route to becoming arguably the greatest tag team wrestler ever.
10 Best: Rey Mysterio
As the Attitude Era drew to a close, so did Edge's time as one half of perhaps the greatest tag team in WWE history. It wouldn't necessarily spell the end of Edge's tag team career though. In 2002, Edge was part of a special group of men referred to by many fans as "The SmackDown 6."
The group consisted of Edge, Rey Mysterio, Kurt Angle, Eddie, and Chavo Guerrero, and one more competitor that won't be named. At one point, the six men formed three teams that feuded over the WWE Tag Team Championships. Eventually, Edge and Rey Mysterio would capture those titles. They wouldn't hold them for too long but they were an incredible team regardless.
9 Worst: The Edgeheads
In 2007, Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins arrived in WWE as The Major Brothers. The team was young but they had some future potential. Eventually, the two would find themselves under the guidance of The Rated R Superstar. They'd be part of Edge's La Familia stable alongside Vickie Guerrero, Chavo Guerrero, and Bam Neely.
The two would team up with Edge on several occasions. Unfortunately, at the time, neither man was experienced enough to be more than a lackey. They would both improve dramatically over the years and experience some solid success in the business. During their time with Edge though, neither man was ready for prime time.
8 Best: Hulk Hogan
Hulk Hogan is perhaps the biggest wrestling star of all time. During the '80s, Hogan helped put WWE and professional wrestling as a whole on the map. He was the top star in the business and although he often competed in tag team matches, he was rarely in the running for the WWE Tag Team Championships.
2002 was a different story though. By that point in his career, Hogan was still a huge star, but he also had a lot more mobility on the card. That year, Hogan accomplished a first in his illustrious career when he won the WWE Tag Team Championships with Edge. They wouldn't hold the titles for long, but winning the tag titles alongside Hulk Hogan still has to be one of Edge's career highlights.
7 Worst: Beth Phoenix
Vince McMahon likes to think of WWE as more of an entertainment conglomerate than a wrestling promotion. As such, the entertainment side can often trump the wrestling side in WWE. Many times, real-life romances are used in storylines for entertainment purposes. That's not always the best move though.

After returning from injury in 2020, Edge's marriage to fellow WWE Hall Of Famer, Beth Phoenix was often referenced. Eventually, the two would team up to face The Miz and Maryse at Royal Rumble 2022. For some odd reason, Edge and Phoenix don't enhance each other as a team. The duo felt more like old parents trying to be cool than badass Hall Of Famers.
6 Best: Chris Jericho
The story of partners turned rivals has been told several times. In 2009, Edge and Chris took a stab at it. That year, Edge and Jericho would form a super team and win the Unified WWE Tag Team Championships. It would be Edge's record-setting 14th WWE Tag Team Championship reign.
Unfortunately, Edge would tear his Achilles tendon and Jericho would replace him with The Big Show. Edge would surprisingly return at Royal Rumble 2010 and win the Royal Rumble match. At WrestleMania 26, Edge challenged Jericho for the World Heavyweight Championship but came up short. Despite the flat payoff, the Edge/Jericho partnership led to a well-told main event storyline.
5 Worst: Sable
In 1998, Edge was brand new on the WWE scene. Despite his lack of experience, WWE saw potential in the young Canadian performer. So much so that they booked him to be the mystery partner for one of the company's biggest stars at the company's second-biggest show of the year.
At SummerSlam 1998, Edge was revealed as Sable's mystery partner against Marc Mero and Jacqueline. The duo would pick up the win that night but not much would come from the pairing. Teaming with Sable might've seemed like a huge break to Edge at the time, but he'd go on to team with far better performers throughout his career.
4 Best: Randy Orton
The reality of the pro wrestling business is that there are levels to it. Some performers are destined to be singles stars, others are only meant to be part of teams. Then, there are the special performers who can thrive as either. Edge and Randy Orton are both special performers.

In 2006, the two main event performers formed a super team, Rated RKO, to compete with D-Generation-X. They would end up winning the World Tag Team Championships, proving to be a formidable unit. They'd eventually break up to again pursue singles success. However, their story was revisited when Edge made his 2020 return to wrestling.
3 Worst: Gene Snitsky
In the wrestling business, dastardly heels are supposed to stoop to whatever depths it takes to come out on top. Throughout his career, Edge became a master at doing just that. In 2004, Gene Snitsky debuted in WWE with a bizarre storyline that saw him cause Lita to have a miscarriage.
In 2005, Edge who was now with Lita in both storyline and real-life enlisted the services of Snitsky. Edge would even offer Snitsky, who was written to have a foot fetish, some time with Lita's feet. Edge and Snitsky would go on to team on a few occasions. Their pairing wasn't good by any means, but it did add another layer of evil to Edge's character.
2 Best: Christian
There was a time in pro wrestling when kayfabe ruled the land. If any storyline was ever proven to not be true, it could often mean serious consequences for the talents exposed. In the 2000s, that began to change a bit. That worked in the favor of kayfabe brothers Edge and Christian. The duo was arguably one of the greatest in WWE history, winning the WWE Tag Team Championships seven times.
At first, they were presented as brothers, but later on, they were revealed to simply be childhood friends. Regardless, the change to the story never did much to hurt Edge and Christian's legacy. Both performers would go on to be World Champions and have more tag team success with other partners. However, they were easily each other's best partners, by a mile.
1 Worst: Kelly Kelly
In 2011, Edge was unknowingly nearing the end of his initial wrestling career. Before that though, The Rated R Superstar was headed towards another World Championship reign on SmackDown. This time around though, it would be as a babyface. Edge's babyface status at the time put him at odds with his former flame and SmackDownGeneral Manager, Vickie Guerrero.
He wouldn't be the only superstar on the roster who had a problem with Vickie. At the time, Kelly Kelly also had issues with Vickie. This led to Edge and Kelly Kelly forming a temporary alliance. They would team up on a few occasions in early 2011 but not much would come of it since Edge would be forced to retire soon.
