10 Matches Triple H Should Book For Survivor Series 2022
Daniel Cobb
WWE first presented the annual Survivor Series PPV in 1987, with the event till this date being the second-longest running show of the company, and being the part of its "Big 4" events alongside WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and the Royal Rumble. Since the promotion's re-introduction of the brand split back in 2016, the show has served as the night where stars from Raw and Smackdown go head-to-head for the sake of brand supremacy.

With the promotion's creative direction now under the helm of Triple H, there are some big changes coming to the Survivor Series event. On September 19th, 2022, WWE announced that for the first time in the company's long history, War Games matches will be headlining the Survivor Series premium live event. Also, it was announced, that the show will not be fully based on the brand warfare theme, contrary to its predecessors. With the possibilities now being endless, there are some matches Triple H should definitely book for the show.
10 Seth Rollins (c) Vs Johnny Gargano - US Championship
On the October 10th, 2022, edition of Monday Night Raw, Seth Rollins defeated Bobby Lashley to win the United States Championship, in what was one of the most surprising WWE title changes of the entire year. With the red brand currently being very low on babyfaces, there are only a few legit contenders to Rollins' throne right now, with one Johnny Gargano being at the top of the list.
Gargano made his return to WWE in August and immediately got into a feud with Austin Theory. With it being about time for Johnny Wrestling to move on, a dream match against Seth Rollins seems like a no-brainer. Both the stars can no doubt put on an amazing performance and will indeed elevate the championship.
9 Rhea Ripley Vs Beth Phoenix
At Extreme Rules 2022, Rhea Ripely made Edge lose his "I Quit" match to Finn Balor by threatening to hit his wife Beth Phoenix with a "ConChairTo" if he does not willingly quit and lose the bout. However, even though Edge conformed, Ripely cruelly smashed Phoenix's skull with two steel chairs.
With Beth Phoenix still being in ring shape as proven by her mixed tag match at Royal Rumble 2022, it would be a perfect opportunity for her to return and face Ripely at Survivor Series. A clean victory over a Hall of Famer will be a huge moment for Rhea and will once again cement her as a threat in the women's division.
8 Gunther (c) Vs Braun Strowman - IC Championship
There is no denying that the former Walter has been on an incredible run on Smackdown as the Intercontinental Champion. Gunther's bout against the likes of Shinsuke Nakamura and Sheamus have helped him re-establish the significance of the historic belt.

7 Ronda Rousey (c) Vs Meiko Satomura - Smackdown Women's Championship
Meiko Satomura is easily one the most respected females in all the world right now. Her body of work in promotions such as WCW, Gaea Japan, Sendai Girls' Pro Wrestling, and Chikara eventually got her to NXT UK, where she held the brand's women's championship for a record 451 days.
With Ronda Rousey in need of a major babyface challenger, and Satomura without a brand due to the end of NXT UK, a one-off match between the two hard hitting females will be a treat for the fans. Moreover, it'll provide Rousey with an imposing opponent and will keep her occupied until the eventual return of Becky Lynch.
6 Dexter Lumis Vs Ciampa - Boiler Room Brawl
Since his arrival on Raw, Dexter Lumis has had his sights set on The Miz, and the two have feuded since. However, one person suspiciously missing from the scene is Tommaso Ciampa, who has been aligned with the former WWE Champion for months.
It would make perfect sense for Ciampa to eventually come to the aid of Miz and start a feud of his own with Lumis. Considering the sadistic nature of both the characters, them going against each other in an old-fashioned Boiler Room Brawl would make up for an exciting bout. Moreover, it will also provide the groundwork for Ciampa to bring back his "Black Heart" character from NXT.
5 AJ Styles Vs Finn Balor
Considering how Balor and Styles were the first two leaders of NJPW's Bullet Club faction respectively, it comes as a massive surprise that the two stars have only faced off once, and that too at TLC 2017 when Styles was a last minute replacement for Bray Wyatt.
With Styles and Balor finally now entering a proper feud and with The OC vs Judgment Day set for WWE Crown Jewel 2022, a single's match between the two at Survivor Series should definitely be a match that Triple H books.
4 Santos Escobar Vs Rey Mysterio
Santos Escobar, along with Legado Del Fantasma, made his WWE main roster debut on the October 7th, 2022, episode of Smackdown. Just a week later, Rey Mysterio also willingly traded himself to the blue brand after his son Dominik turned heel.

With Escobar just starting his main roster run, a few with the former WWE Champion can help him like it did Andrade.
3 Pat McAfee Vs Corey Graves
Triple H has previously stated that unlike previous years, the 2022 installation of Survivor Series would not be a totally brand-versus-brand event. However, the statement leaves room for a possible match between the stars across the two brands. That match should be Corey Graves taking on Pat McAfee.
Graves, who is a former NXT Tag Team Champion, was cleared to return to in-ring action earlier this year after staying away from in-ring action for over 5 years due to multiple concussions. While McAfee is currently off WWE programming due to his college football commentary commitments, he can certainly pop up for a bout with Graves at Survivor Series. The two stars have subtlety built this match on commentary for a year, and Survivor Series seems like the best time for Hunter to give it a green-light.
2 Team Damage CTRL Vs Team Bianca Belair - War Games
It was earlier announced that on the Survivor Series show, two War Games matches will be taking place, one each for the Men's and Women's divisions. Speaking of the latter, the women's division has be dominated by Bayley's Damage CTRL faction since their arrival at SummerSlam. Hence, it would make perfect sense for Bianca Belair to assemble a team to take them down.
The Raw Women's Champion teaming up with the likes of Alexa Bliss, Asuka, and Candice LeRae to take on Damage CTRL and a fourth partner, perhaps a returning Charlotte Flair, will indeed make up for a tantalizing affair, considering IYO SKY, Dakota Kai, Bianca Belair, and Candice LeRae's War Games resume.
1 The Bloodline Vs Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens, Shinsuke Nakamura, Sheamus, and Riddle - War Games
When it comes to the men's version of the War Games, there is absolutely no doubt that one of the teams involved will be the Bloodline. Roman Reigns is by far the biggest star in all of WWE today, and hence Triple H would want him in the legendary match along with his crew.
On the opposing side it would make sense for Reigns' former challengers to unite to take out his cavalry. Drew, Owens, Riddle, and Nakamura all fell to the interferences from the Bloodline, which will provide the babyfaces with proper motivation. While Sheamus has not yet faced the Tribal Chief, he seems to be the next idol challenger considering him and his faction just turned face. Moreover, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn being on different ends will only add another layer to the bout.
