WWE has embraced the humor side for years with their dream of being a variety show of the wrestling storytelling world. Many of the all-time greats like The Rock, Chris Jericho, and Kurt Angle are remembered for making the audience laugh as much as for having great matches and legendary feuds.

The comedy side will see jokes landing and becoming part of the legacy of any noteworthy performer. Certain jokes in WWE have stood the test of time and will always provide a laugh for those who remember them. Each scenario was different in execution, but they landed in the same area of success. The following jokes were the funniest to ever come on WWE TV.
10 Ron Simmons "Damn!" Timing
Ron Simmons proved that some jokes are so good that WWE will continue to use them for many weeks. WWE no longer had Simmons as a full-time wrestler when coming up with the idea of having him randomly show up and exclaim “Damn!” for a humorous reaction to other wrestlers.

The first moment featured John Cena having a vicious but funny insult towards Booker with Simmons randomly coming around to say “Damn!” to a huge ovation. WWE used this joke for months and still does whenever Simmons is around for the random legend's appearance.
9 The Rock's Sacramento Kings Line During His Concert
Many fans view The Rock’s best character as the Hollywood Rock version when he turned heel in 2003. Rock realized some of the audience enjoyed booing him once entering a part-time schedule to film his movies and used it to get heat.
The infamous Rock concerts were some of the funniest segments in WWE history with dozens of jokes coming in his lyrics. Rock received massive heat for his joke about the NBA hometown team Sacramento Kings losing to the Los Angeles Lakers in May a year after their most recent heartbreaking defeat.
8 Damien Mizdow Imitating The Miz
Damien Sandow ended up finding a new gimmick when trying out a joke role as The Miz’s stunt double. WWE wanted to play into Miz’s acting career since he was the one often selected to film the WWE Studios movies and took a few weeks off for those roles.
Miz returned more arrogant than ever after one of the movie absences and demanded his own stunt double. Sandow becoming Mizdow saw him delivering hilarious physical comedy jokes weekly imitating Miz during matches outside the ring to loud laughter.
7 Stephanie McMahon Walking In On Triple H & Trish Stratus
WWE used to love setting up comedic scenarios for their biggest stars in the Attitude Era. The time of society allowing for outlandish moments more than the past or future saw the relationship between Triple H and Stephanie McMahon providing the humor.
Triple H was innocently teaching fellow heel Trish Stratus wrestling moves ahead of their mixed tag match later that night. The joke featured Stephanie walking into the room at the wrong time when it looked like her husband was in a compromising position to cause a huge meltdown.
6 Santino's Cobra Being Unbeatable
Few wrestlers have as many hilarious moments in their WWE history as Santino Marella. The heel character of Santino delivered great quotes, but WWE eventually had to turn him babyface since he made the audience laugh so much.
Santino developed a running joke for his finishing move of the Cobra once playing a face. The sock puppet was designed like a cobra and his hilarious delivery led to Santino winning his matches with the least likely finisher as a constant joke.
5 Vince McMahon Failing Lie Detector Test
WWE created an elaborate joke when Hulk Hogan played the masked Mr. America character and Vince McMahon wanted to expose him with a lie detector test. Mr. America passed the test when claiming he wasn’t going and shutting down every other McMahon question.

The arrogant Vince strapped himself into the lie detector and wanted to prove that it doesn’t detect lies. However, WWE wrote the perfect joke when McMahon’s lies were detected with humorous questions. Vince having to answer about his addiction to Torrie Wilson’s Playboy magazine was the funniest moment from the segment.
4 R-Truth Showing Up At The Wrong Times
The entire character of R-Truth is known for comedy, which makes WWE try to find ideal segments for jokes. R-Truth developed a running bit of showing up at the wrong time whenever there was a big match, and he entered the ring.
WWE’s funniest joke for R-Truth in this style featured him entering the Royal Rumble match and bringing a ladder thinking it was the Money in the Bank match. Another great joke from this time featured R-Truth declaring for another Rumble match thinking Paul Heyman would be his competition before realizing it was Brock Lesnar.
3 Eddie Guerrero Stealing Ric Flair's Royal Rumble Number
Royal Rumble 2005 featured Eddie Guerrero and Ric Flair taking part in one of the funniest backstage segments in WWE history. WWE used to have the wrestlers drawing their random numbers for the battle royal backstage.
Flair appeared happy to have a great number before meeting with Guerrero who pickpocketed him to exchange their numbers. The joke was perfect with Flair selling it perfectly. SmackDown General Manager Teddy Long made them trade back their original numbers. Eddie was the first entrant and Flair was the last at #30 to explain why they had such reactions.
2 The Rock Reciting Billy Gunn's Prayers
The Rock became the funniest WWE superstar during the Attitude Era with hilarious jokes in promos every week. Billy Gunn received the biggest singles match of his career against The Rock in the semi-main event of SummerSlam 1999 during a push.
However, it became clear Gunn wasn’t on the same level as Rock during the build. Rock cut an all-time great promo running down Billy claiming he was asking God for help ahead of their match. The big joke came when Rock revealed God thought Gunn’s name was Bob and that “it doesn’t matter” what his name was to a tremendous reaction.
1 Edge Writing Messages On Back Of Pictures To Mock Kurt Angle
Kurt Angle deserves a lot of credit for being a serious wrestler in the ring and taking part in many comedic moments. An underrated feud between Angle and Edge led to them having a couple of jokes in their interactions.
Edge had the best one when confronting Angle backstage with photos of their old times together when both were close friends in the Team ECK trio. The joke was the camera catching the back of the photos with messages insulting Angle while he held them looking at each one after the other. WWE recently redid this for a humorous play on history.
