10 Forgotten '90s WWE Wrestlers Who Competed At SummerSlam
Emma Terry
SummerSlam is WWE's second biggest PPV, behind only WrestleMania, of course, so, in theory, only the biggest superstars should compete in the Biggest Party of the Summer. Nevertheless, over the years, there have been several exceptions.

In the 1990s, when WWE's roster was more limited, there were wrestlers who weren't as talented and fans don't even remember them today, but they still competed at an event as important as SummerSlam. Most of them had lackluster and forgettable matches, though. So, without further ado, let's take a look at 10 forgotten 90s WWE wrestlers who competed at SummerSlam.
10 Hercules
No, we're not talking about the mythical Roman figure with super strength, but a wrestler who worked for WWE in the 1980s and 1990s. He was never a big star, as he was a mid-card wrestler who competed mostly in irrelevant tag team matches, though perhaps he had the talent to be more than that.
He competed in four SummerSlam events, including two in the 1990s. Hercules' only victory came at SummerSlam 1990 when he teamed with Paul Roma to defeat The Rockers.
9 The Texas Tornado
Remember The Texas Tornado? Probably not. Throughout his career, he was better known as Kerry von Erich, but he adopted the Texas Tornado gimmick in WWE.
He had a forgettable run in the company, but he competed at two consecutive SummerSlam PPVs (1990 and 1991). In 1990, the Texas Tornado defeated Mr. Perfect to win the Intercontinental Championship, a major moment, but one that, for some reason, fans quickly forgot.
8 The Warlord
The Warlord was a minor character in WWE, so it's no wonder he was forgotten. He just wasn't a good worker and was never over with the fans. Despite that, he had three matches at SummerSlam.

In 1989, The Warlord and The Barbarian defeated The Bolsheviks (Boris Zhukov and Nikolai Volkoff). In 1990, The Warlord defeated Tito Santana in a singles match. And in 1991, he joined forces with Hercules and Paul Roma, and they lost to The British Bulldog, The Dragon, and The Texas Tornado.
7 Akio Sato
Maybe you don't remember him, or just never heard of him, but Akio Sato worked for WWE in 1990, wrestling 104 matches (including House Shows), and one of them took place at SummerSlam.
Sato and Tanaka formed a team called The Orient Express, which was managed by Mr. Fuji, and they faced Jim Duggan and Nikolai Volkoff but lost after a mediocre three-minute match.
6 Jose Estrada
Maybe you have no idea who Jose Estrada was, and you probably forgot the entire Los Boricuas faction. It was formed by Estrada, Jesus Castillo, Miguel Perez, and Savio Vega, this last one was the only one who managed to prosper in WWE.

This faction had a match at SummerSlam 1997, against The Disciples Of Apocalypse (8-Ball, Chainz, Crush and Skull), which is also a forgotten stable, by the way. So, if you forgot about Los Boricuas, you also forgot about Jose Estrada.
5 Bertha Faye
At SummerSlam 1995, Bertha Faye defeated Alundra Blayze to become World Women’s Champion for the first and only time in her WWE career.
She held the title for 57 days and couldn’t successfully defend it, as she lost in her first match as a champion. Faye had a terrible reign, and she only worked for WWE in 1995, so it is no wonder that fans have forgotten about her.
4 Jimmy del Ray
Jimmy del Ray was a wrestler who was active between 1984 and 1996, but his career was quite discreet. He worked for WWE in the 1990s and competed at SummerSlam 1993.
The Heavenly Bodies (Jimmy del Ray and Tom Prichard) faced The Steiner Brothers in a World Tag Team Championship match. Scott and Rick won and retained the title in what was arguably the best match of the night.
3 Ludvig Borga
Ludvig Borga, also known as Tony Halme, had a seven-year professional wrestling career, and he had a brief stint in WWE between 1993 and 1994. Borga not only competed at SummerSlam, but he won a singles match.
That's right, at the 1993 edition of the Biggest Party Of The Summer, Borga defeated Marty Jannetty, although it was a terrible match. Beyond that win at SummerSlam, Borga didn't accomplish much in WWE, so don't worry if you forgot about him.
2 Chainz
Truth be told, Chainz was a mediocre worker, both in the ring and on the microphone, and he had virtually no good moments in WWE, so there was nothing to remember about him. Still, he had two matches at SummerSlam, he was part of the team The Disciples Of Apocalypse in the match against Los Boricuas at SummerSlam 1997.
Also, in 1994, Chainz, with the gimmick of a fake Undertaker, faced The Undertaker in The Biggest Party Of The Summer, an infamous match due to how lousy it was.
1 Barry Horowitz
Do you remember Barry Horowitz? If the answer is yes, then you are a hardcore wrestling fan, if the answer is no, then you are like most fans, as Horowitz is a forgotten wrestler even though he worked for WWE for several years.
Horowitz was a true jobber, he was perhaps the jobber's jobber, but he fulfilled his role to perfection, admittedly. He competed at SummerSlam once, in 1995. Horowitz defeated Skip (better known as Chris Candido) in a decent match that nobody remembers.
